Stephanie is a native Texan who moved to California in 2004. She has been in the health and fitness industry for over six years and discovered Pilates while she was a personal trainer in Southern California. A prior “hard core” workout junkie, Stephanie was initially skeptical of Pilates as it didn’t seem hard enough to accomplish the results it promised. After experiencing the body transformation herself, Stephanie became a convert and decided to become a Pilates Instructor.
Stephanie is a certified Pilates Mat and Equipment Instructor through the Pilates Method Alliance and received her training in Southern California. She is also an ACE certified Personal Trainer and holds a BA in Psychology and MS in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology. In addition to her training, Stephanie has experience in the development and promotion of community-based health and fitness programs.
Stephanie has worked with clients of all ages and levels, from the post rehab client to the advanced. She combines her knowledge of functional training and biomechanics with Pilates to provide goal-oriented workouts that are both challenging and level appropriate. As a movement teacher, Stephanie believes that it is her responsibility to provide her clients with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve their goals and attain self-responsibility for habit and movement pattern changes.
Testimonials:
I first met Stephanie when I was 70 years old. All my life my body had been something to carry my head around - but recently I’d been experiencing pain in my lower back, thighs, and legs to the point where it was difficult to sleep, and I often found myself walking like an old woman leaning on a shopping cart. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. Then, Stephanie came to my rescue! With patience, skill, and endless good humor she taught me to communicate with and use my muscles, most of which I didn’t know I had, and as I gradually became stronger, my pain diminished. I can now walk good distances without pain and I stand up straight! Linda H., Santa Rosa, CA
I was so fortunate to be assigned Stephanie as my Pilates instructor, when I began Pilates almost three years ago. I wasn't unaware of Pilates as both my daughter and daughter-in-law were at that time and still are Pilates teachers.Stephanie listens attentively to each client's needs and desires. She absorbs information like a sponge and is remarkably attentive to each client's needs, circumstances, and feelings. Stephanie is a fantastic Pilates instructor, a wonderful woman, and an asset beyond measure in anyone's life. I miss her incredibly as my Pilates instructor, and if you are fortunate enough to experience her wonderful abilities and great nature, you are blessed...and your gain is my loss.
